It has been said ( and I personally agree) that many of the problems married couples struggle with are a direct result of having to deal with 6 different individuals in the relationship.

Who the man thinks he is, who his wife thinks he is and who he REALLY is.

Who the woman thinks she is, who her husband thinks she is and who she really is.

The Proper Attitude of Man under Grace: William R. Newell in quotation marks, Bryan echoing....

1. "To believe, and to consent to be loved while unworthy, is the great secret."-I choose to believe I am loved by GOD and will accept that love no matter what I feel.

2. "To refuse to make "resolutions" and "vows"; for that, is to trust in the flesh". - God help me to keep my feet on the ground, my eyes on you and my mind in your word.

3. "To expect to be blessed, though realizing more and more lack of worth."- God bless me. Give me the mindset of Jacob. A tenacious hold that won't let go until I am blessed ( despite my lack of worth)

4. "To testify of God's goodness, at all times."- You are good God. I want everyone who meets me to know that.

5. "To be certain of God's future favor; yet to be ever more tender in conscience toward Him. " - My future is secure but don't let me lose focus. I want to be zeroed in on you.

6. "To rely on God's chastening hand as a mark of His kindness."- Your discipline is evidence of our relationship. You are my Father/

7. "A man under grace, if like Paul, has no burden regarding himself; but many about others."- give me the mind of Christ. Give me a heart that breaks for others oh God.
